EMA Site Visit- Jurong Island Solar Land 1
On 2nd March 2020, Mr Charles Wong, Chief Executive Officer Of Terrenus Energy hosted an EMA Site Visit.
Officers from the Energy Market Authority and JTC Corporation had visited Singapore’s first ground mount solar farm at Jurong Island which was implemented and operated jointly by JTC and Terrenus Energy.
Among them were Mr Ngiam Shih Chun( Chief Executive of Energy Market Authority), Mr Calvin Chung( JTC Group Director of Engineering), Mr Bernard Nee (Deputy Chief Executive of Energy Market Authority),Ms Tan Su Chern (Director of Technical Services,JTC), Mr Tan Chee yong( Manager,JTC) and Mr Steven HO( Senior Electrical Engineer,JTC).
SolarLand Phase 1 was announced as part of JTC’s initiative to increase solar energy production to reduce Singapore’s reliance on fossil fuels and maximize the 3.9 hectares of vacant land. It could generate up to 6.6GWh of renewable energy annually and 100% of solar energy generated will be exported to the grid.
Terrenus Energy is constantly working on developing solar technologies with the aim of taking incremental steps to provide affordable green energy and make positive contributions to the environment. It is estimated that SolarLand Phase 1 will result in reducing 49,800 metric ton of carbon dioxide emission over the course of its 18 years operation.
