The idea of establishing an energy solutions firm was first hatched by Founder and CEO Charles Wong, when he saw that the world was moving towards energy deregulation. He saw that the future of energy lay in smart renewable power microgrid systems, which democratise clean energy, leverage on the Internet of Things (IoT) and facilitate the rise of ‘pro-sumers’, who are consumers empowered to produce energy for self-consumption.
Charles was thus determined to create innovation in the energy market. When the energy market in Australia became fully deregulated and market conditions were ripe, Charles established Terrenus COREnergy in 2014 to serve the deregulated Australian energy market.
With the success that we experienced in Australia, Terrenus Energy established an office in Singapore in 2016 with the aim of extending Terrenus Energy’s clean, renewable energy vision here. The company believes that clean energy is not a choice, but a necessity and the only way forward. Our presence in the Singapore market will benefit the whole energy ecosystem.
In 2018, Terrenus Energy clinched its first solar project in Singapore with JTC to build Singapore’s first solar farm on Jurong Island. With our solid track record in successfully delivering on all projects, we are confident that we will be able to complete JTC’s 5.5 megawatt farm by end-2018 and be operationally ready in early 2019.
Terrenus Energy looks forward to expanding our footprint in Singapore and is preparing to bid for more upcoming projects.
